What I do with my drums

We now have a guitarist

Well, I got a wild hair up my ass the other day, was feeling pretty pumped up. So, I text Travis, and say "Hey, I was thinking about recruiting a guitarist for the band, what do you think?" and he says "Yeah go for it man!" so I went and posted an ad that we were looking for a guitarist, not really knowing what to expect.

Studio Restructuring

In the past few weeks, I've done a LOT to the studio, to hopefully speed up my creative work flow, and really get things moving quickly. A ton of updates.

- New audio interface: Edirol FA-101
- Neutrik Patchbay
- New racks
- TC Electronics Level Pilot

Album updates

So, this past weekend has been really good. I got the drum machine in, figured out how to program it and sync it up with Logic. The full Logic Studio has been installed on the studio computers, by the way. :) Got the drum machine hooked up to the modular, and this thing sounds amazing. We're going to get some good beats out of this thing, it's pure hell in a tiny little box that can sit on the upper right section of the Nord, which works perfect since that puts it directly below the modular. This thing can make some of the weirdest sounding drums, like nothing you've ever heard before.

New updates

We're about halfway done creating content for our new album, and I've got some exciting new developments in the gear department.

Computer Developments

So, Travis's PC finally bit the dust, and he came to me, wanting me to help him find a decent laptop for a good price. We shopped around together for a while, and he finally decided that he wanted to get the older Macbook style, just like mine... So, after some thought, I came up with an idea, and Travis loved the idea. He bought my heavily upgraded Macbook from me for a decent price. I have been saving up for a new Waldorf Blofeld for some time now, so I had a bit of cash on hand already. I added that to the money he gave me, and I bought a new laptop for myself.

I live in Louisiana, and therefore had the pleasure of voting for Ron Paul tonight. I even whipped out my camera phone and snapped a little picture of the light next to his name...as I wiped a tear from my eye. I know it won't count for much, I knew months ago that Obama would win this. I also knew that McCain would win my state. I could have voted for Mickey Mouse and it wouldn't have changed either of those facts. But, I voted where my heart pointed me, and I feel like I did the best job of voting, that I have ever done in my entire life. I have always voted Republican on everything.
